The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said yesterday that the federal government is vigorously driving the process for the passage of the various components of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) as part of efforts to ensure stability of the environment for oil majors and other stakeholders, Daily Trust reports.
Speaking when he declared open the 1st Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Oil Exploration and Production Companies Summit held in Abuja with the theme, “Sustainable Capacity Building in the Oil and Gas Sector in Nigeria: The Game Changer,” Kachikwu said efforts are on to unveil the new national gas policy and a road map for the petroleum industry.
Kachikwu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry Dr. Jamila Shua’ra, did not give specific details of the new road map for the petroleum industry but assured oil majors present at the summit that their input will be needed to contribute to the critical process.
